Cyber Connection Opens Computer Labs to the Public! The start of a new year has once again brought a wonderful learning opportunity for the families of New Braunfels ISD. The New Braunfels Independent School District, in conjunction with Nancy Ney Charter School, was the recent recipient of a TARGET grant. As part of this grant, entitled Cyber Connections, we are able to have the lab at Lone Star Elementary, 2343 W. San Antonio Street, open on Thursday afternoons from 4 to 6pm, beginning October 20, 2005 and continuing through May 11, 2006. Nancy Ney Charter School, 1195 W. San Antonio Street, will open a computer lab on Tuesdays from 4 to 6pm, beginning October 18, 2005 and continuing through May 9, 2006. You are welcome to attend either or both labs. We are very thrilled and excited to be able to offer our parents and community members this opportunity to come to the campus and use the lab to expand their computer skills. Each month will have a targeted focus skill, but attendees may work on individual interest areas as well. The following targets have been set:
The lab is open for your use to come and go as needed. There will be a lab manager present for assistance if you want to come in to do research, word processing, or other skills. We do ask that children sixth grade and below be accompanied by a parent. If the school is closed on the day of the open lab, the lab will also be closed that evening. We look forward to seeing you and helping you expand your technology knowledge and skills. If you have any further questions regarding the lab or the Cyber Connection project, please feel free to contact our technology department at 643-5743. |
